Easy’s Amputation

I have a 3 year old black lab that is very high energy.  We live on acreage and she loves to run and play  I’ve never seen a dog with as much energy as this one.  We were using a “chunker” to throw a tennis ball to her and our other two labs.  She was racing full speed to get to it first.  To make a long story short, she jumped high to fetch somehow tripping and landing in a very awkward position.  It resulted in a severely broken right foreleg.  After many xrays and 3 vets (including 2 orthopedic surgery) the best decision for her was amputation due to the severity of the break and only a 20% chance of any success with surgery.   So the big day came.  We were nervous and scared, but she is doing well.  She spent one night in the hospital and is now resting at home on her second day after surgery.
